Frequently Asked Questions
& Other Helpful Tidbits

  • In your first session, the focus is on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. This looks like talking about your goals, any challenges you're currently facing, and what you'd like to get out of the therapeutic process. You can also expect me to ask some background questions to help me better understand your experiences and needs.

This session is a chance for you to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide if it feels like a good fit. There's no pressure to share everything right away — we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

  • Private pay individual sessions are $135 for 50 minutes, and $205 for 90 minute couples/family sessions.

    Insurance sessions are 55 minutes.

I use Headway to house all documentation and payments for clients utilizing insurance. Your cost is determined by your insurance provider.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I ask for at least 24 hours notice.

Cancellations made within the 24 hour window will incur a late cancel fee.

  • I see clients on the following days/times:

    • Tuesdays, 1pm-6pm

    • Wednesdays, 10am-6pm

    • Thursdays, 9am-4pm

  • I’m currently in-network for individual clients with Aetna, Anthem EAP, Ascension Smart Health, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Quest Behavioral Health. I’m also in the process of joining several other insurance panels.

If you’re unsure whether I’m in-network with your plan, feel free to reach out or check through Headway — they can help verify your coverage and let you know what to expect.

While I accept insurance for individual therapy, I do not for couples therapy. This is because insurance requires a mental health diagnosis for one person and documentation that focuses on their individual treatment. Couples therapy, however, focuses on the relationship—not one person’s diagnosis—which doesn’t align with insurance requirements.

Because insurance doesn't support the nature of relational work, couples therapy is provided as private pay to preserve the integrity of the process.

  • I’m a great listener, have a good sense of humor, and am very connected to my own thoughts/feelings/humanity. I love to connect human to human, and create a warm, nurturing, challenging, and safe space for my clients.

I am a Christian counselor, but that doesn’t mean I quote scripture at you during session. I am a faith-based person; consequentially, my work is faith-based. However, I am wholeheartedly committed to respecting my client’s right to believe or not believe as they choose, and simply ask for the same courtesy. There is no need to be perfectly aligned in matters of faith.
